Hopadoo is a set of free browser games kids play by moving in front of the camera on a laptop, tablet or phone. They jump hurdles, dodge crates and run to the right answer with their whole body, and the runners on screen copy every move. Screen time on their feet, with nothing to install.
Why the camera? It’s how the runners copy each move, and the video never leaves this device.
The games
They all run on the laptop, tablet or phone you already have, wherever you are. The kids move, and the camera does the rest.
Race side by side. Jump the hurdles, dodge the crates and grab the coins, and the runners copy every move.
A sum comes up on the sign. Read it, then run into the lane with the right answer, side by side.
A picture word with a letter missing. Stand under the right letter, jump to pop it in, and spell the word together.
The monkey strikes a pose. Copy it like a mirror and hold it while your ring fills, but don't copy the parrot!
Tiptoe up to a sleeping tiger together. When it peeks, freeze, or hide as a tree or a rock! And step around the crunchy leaves.
Part of the Family Unlock. If this device has it, the button opens the game. If not, it takes you to the unlock.
Play SneakFireflies drift overhead. When one glows above you, jump with your hands up to catch it, and fill the jar together.

Play Ten JarSunny says a word, and each kid hops into the lane with that word. It starts with short, simple words like cat and sun, and grows with each kid.

Play Word HopEach kid's sign asks for a number, like 5 + 3. Stand under the lily pad with the answer and jump onto it, and a frog hops along the stones to count it out.

Kids are going to have screen time. Hopadoo makes it the kind where they're up on their feet, out of breath and laughing at each other.
“A fun alternative to mindless scrolling… FREE browser games that get kids up and moving… no downloads required!”
How it works
No console, no controllers, no downloads. A laptop, tablet or phone with a camera is everything you need, at home, at Grandma's or on holiday.
A laptop on a table, or a tablet or phone propped up sideways. Open hopadoo.com, press Play and allow the camera. That's the whole install.
Two kids side by side, 2 to 3 metres from the screen. The kid on the left runs the left track, the kid on the right runs the right.
Jump the hurdles, step sideways for coins. Rounds last 60 seconds. Most coins wins, then everyone demands a rematch.
The clever bit
They move, and the runner copies. The camera finds shoulders, hips and feet many times a second, right on your device. No suits, no sensors and no controllers to lose down the back of the sofa.
Privacy
Hopadoo works out where arms and legs are on your device, then throws each video frame away. We never see your kids, and we never want to.
No accounts, no ads, no tracking. Kids never see a price or a shop in the game, and buying anything will always sit behind a grown-ups-only button. Read the privacy policy.

Questions
Where does the camera video go?
Nowhere. It's processed on your device and thrown away frame by frame. Nothing is recorded or uploaded.
Isn't this just more screen time?
It's screen time on their feet. They jump, dodge and race with their whole body, and rounds end after 60 seconds instead of an endless feed. We'd still rather they played outside when they can. Hopadoo is for rainy days and "I'm bored" afternoons.
Is it actually free?
Yes. Hopadoo, Sum Run, Word Pop and Monkey Mirror are free and stay free. Extra games like Sneak, Ten Jar, Word Hop and Number River come with the optional Family Unlock, one payment and no subscription. See pricing
What ages is it for?
About 5 to 12. The sums start at +1 and −1 and grow with each kid, up to sums within 20, and the words start with three letters.
How many kids can play at once?
One or two, side by side. Every game also works for one kid alone.
Do I need to make an account?
No. There are no accounts at all. If you ever buy the unlock, you get a key by email and that's it.
Will it work on a tablet or phone?
Yes. Prop it up sideways on a table or shelf, step back, and play. Phones and tablets work just like a laptop.
Who's behind this?
A small independent team. We read every email: hello@hopadoo.com
