Guides for parents and teachers
Ideas for rainy days and classroom brain breaks, and how each Hopadoo game plays. Every game is played by moving in front of the camera on a laptop, tablet or phone.
Ideas
- Rainy-day activities that get kids moving: ten ideas for the house or a flat, most with no kit at all.
- Classroom brain breaks for K–2: five no-prep ideas, and how to run them.
- Brain breaks kids play on their feet: stations, indoor recess and quick breaks at home.
- An indoor activity they play on their feet: for rainy days, half-term and siblings.
The games
- Hopadoo: a jungle race. Jump the hurdles, step left and right to dodge the crates, grab the coins.
- Sum Run: a sum comes up on the sign, and each kid runs into the lane with the right answer. Adding and taking away up to 10.
- Word Pop: a picture word is missing a letter. Stand under the right letter and jump to pop it in.
- Monkey Mirror: the monkey strikes a pose. Copy it like a mirror and hold it, but don't copy the parrot!
- Sneak: tiptoe up to a sleeping tiger together, and when it peeks, freeze or hide as a tree or a rock. Part of the optional Family Unlock.
- Ten Jar: when a firefly glows above you, jump with your hands up to catch it for the jar. Part of the Family Unlock too.
